IRCC Revokes SDS and NSE Programmes and Benefits
Canada, being one of the top destinations for work and travel amongst international students, has experienced a major increase in temporary residents due to the annual influx of international students and temporary foreign workers. In a bid to control the alarmingly high rate of immigration, IRCC has recently implemented stringent measures and policies including ending the 10- year multiple visa entry, increasing the cost of living for international students and imposing procedures for verification of acceptance letters into Canadian universities. In most recent events, IRCC as published on their official website, had officially ended the Student Direct Stream (SDS) and Nigeria Student Express (NSE) programmes on November 8th, 2024.
